We enter Week 2 of play in Texas high school football. Under rainy skies, all four Matagorda County teams were in action.

The Bay City Blackcats played host to former Head Coach Warren Trahan and his Dickinson Gators while the Tidehaven Tigers were hoping for a homecoming win over the Louise Hornets. In Wallis, the Palacios Sharks were in search of their second consecutive victory and the Van Vleck Leopards hit the road for the first time in 2009, paying a visit to the Edna Cowboys.
